One Gauge, Three Edges, Every Close-Range Check in 11th Edition.

Engagement range went from 1" to 2" in 11th Edition, and that single change pulled a lot of the game inside three inches. Objectives are held at 3". Pile-in moves and consolidation moves are both 3". Coherency starts with a 2" check to the model beside you. And every charge ends with a scramble to get each model that can reach within 1" of its target to do exactly that. These aren't occasional measurements — they come up every turn, in the most crowded part of the table, and a tape measure is the wrong shape for the job. Too long, too floppy, too clumsy to thread between models already nose to nose.

We built something to fix that.

The LITKO 3-Inch Combat Gauge is a single slim piece of laser-cut 3mm acrylic with a different measurement on each edge — 1", 2", and 3". Laser-engraved markers and nothing else. No clutter, no squinting, no unrolling a tape in a space the width of a base.

One Edge for Every Check

• 2" edge — engagement range and coherency. Engagement range is 2" horizontally in 11th, and it happens to be the same distance as the coherency check to the nearest model in your unit. One edge answers two of the most frequent questions on the table without touching a single model. (Coherency in 11th also adds a 9" whole-unit check — the 2" edge covers the one you make constantly.)
• 3" edge — objectives, pile-in, and consolidation. Models are in range of an objective marker at 3" horizontally, pile-in moves top out at 3", and consolidation moves are 3" as well — including the 3" check that decides which consolidation mode you're in. Three of the Fight phase's recurring calls on one edge, and both players can see the result.
• 1" edge — the charge close-out. Every model that can end its charge move within 1" of a charge target has to. That's a check you make on every successful charge, in the tightest space on the board, and it's exactly where a tape measure gives up. When the ruler needs to fit between two bases, this is the edge that gets there.

The markings sit on one face, which keeps the engraved edges crisp and easy to read instead of crowded with a second set of numbers competing for the same space. The gauge slides between models where a tape measure can't go, and it's rigid — no sag, no bend, and no arguing about where the end of the tape actually was.
